VITAMIN B2

What is vitamin B2?

Vitamin B2, also called riboflavin, is needed for the energy supply of the body. It converts carbs, fats and protein into the smaller pieces of energy your body needs to function.

A shortage of this vitamin can cause skin dysfunctions, close to the mouth. Damage to the tongue is also possible and you have a high risk of infections of the nose.

The recommended amount of vitamin B2 is 1,5 milligrams per day for an adult.

Where do I get Vitamin B2 from?

Vitamin B2 can be found in all kinds of food:

- (cow) Liver [3,2 milligrams per 100 grams]

- Linseed [1,0 milligrams per 100 grams]

- Almonds [0,6 milligrams per 100 grams]

- Cheese [0,6 milligrams per 100 grams]
