VITAMIN C

What is vitamin C?

Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is fundamental for good functioning of the immune system. It is also supportive in keeping your skin, teeth and cartilage healthy. The work of your nervous system is co-dependent of this vitamin and it helps with the absorption of oxygen in the blood.

With a deficit of this vitamin your immune system will work less efficient, where you can get sick more often and have harder time fighting it off. A slow healing of wounds is also a symptom of a shortage in vitamin C. Your connective tissue will build up slower when you don't have enough vitamin C in your system.

The recommended amount of vitamin C is 75 milligrams per adult per day.
